Meet Our Pastor

Pastor Scott Dorsey
Pastor Scott Dorsey was baptized at Zion Hill Baptist Church in Philadelphia at 15 and later ordained as a Deacon at 23. During his time at Zion Hill, he served in several leadership roles, including Church Treasurer, Vice Chairman of the Deacon Board, and Spiritual Leader to the youth.
A lifelong advocate for education, Scott earned a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Kutztown University (1986) and a master’s degree in Education from Cabrini College (1994).
In 1987, Scott married Debbie Myrick, and together they have two children, Raven and Martin, and are the guardians of their nephew Jayden. The Dorseys have called Tredyffrin Township home for over 33 years.
Scott’s pastoral journey began at Second Baptist Church of Wayne, where he was licensed and later ordained. He went on to serve as Pastor of Transfiguration Baptist Church in Philadelphia (2001–2004) and Mount Zion Baptist Church of Holmesburg (2004–2018). At Mount Zion, he championed discipleship, evangelism, missions, and Bible study, fostering a focus on making disciples who positively impact the world.
In 2019, Scott and Debbie joined Macedonia Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Byron Craig, where Scott served as an Elder starting in 2022. On September 17, 2024, Scott was called to serve as the 9th Pastor of Macedonia Baptist Church following Pastor Craig’s retirement.
In addition to his ministry, Scott serves as an Intake Supervisor investigating child abuse cases for Chester County Children, Youth, and Family Services and as a Police Chaplain for the Tredyffrin Police Department. He has also made history as the first African American elected official in Tredyffrin Township, serving two terms on the Tredyffrin–Easttown School Board, including as President.
A passionate advocate for education, children, and community, Scott continues to lead efforts to provide shelter for the homeless, fight for fair school funding, and protect children from violence. He is Vice President of the Main Line Black Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance and host of The Scott Dorsey Show: Good People Doing Good Things.
Scott and Debbie are devoted to their faith and family, pressing forward in obedience to God’s will. Their prayer is to continue serving their church and community with love and purpose.
